Home – ‘A place where something is discovered, founded, developed or promoted; a source. A dwelling place together with the family or social unit that occupies it.’
Group – ‘a number of individuals or things considered together because of similarities.’
It’s pretty natural to get together with people isn’t it? It’s just the way we, as people, communicate, interact and live our lives everyday…..
The book of Acts tells us that the early church functioned like this:
“And they continued steadfastly in the Apostle’s doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers.” (Acts 2:42
)
and also
“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all people.
And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:46-47
)
We believe that homegroups will be the lifeblood of us as a community. In these intimate settings, growth and development, relationship and covenant will be established and sustained. When we meet with each other, eat with each other, discover God together……that’s when true community is built.
We believe that homegroups should be relevant and flexible enough to meet the needs of our faith community now and grow as we grow; so we have multiple homegroups on multiple days covering different topics……
