The Vision Purpose and Goals of Family Worship Centre
Vision, Purpose and Goals. What are they? Why do we need them? It’s been said that the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results! If we want to see something different in our lives, we need to do something different! If we want to have something accomplished by the end of 2010, we need to have a plan at the beginning to achieve it! Simply put:
Vision is what we see,
Purpose is why we see what we see, and
Goals are how we get to what we see
Habbakuk 2:2 is something that most people have heard; write down a vision make it plain so that everyone can see it and understand what it is, and be able to run with it! So here it is:
Vision (What do we see?)
1) Living Water – we are the moving, breathing river of God in this community, not a dam. Not a structure that blocks up the flow of living water, to dispense it every now and then, but full of the Spirit, we BECOME the vessels that carry that living water (John 7:37-39
). Out of us will spring forth that Holy Ghost flow that shapes the landscape, not becomes shaped by it. Through, over, around obstacles; we never lose our refreshing quality; we never lose our bond with each other. Each individual stream joins together to flow as one river, to be streams in a dry and thirsty place.
What does this mean?
a. Each stream is unique; we flow together, but we have been made unique in nature, talent and ability. Let’s celebrate our uniqueness and our common goal to be the Holy Ghost River of God.
b. Water doesn’t fight water. Water doesn’t resist water. In this house, let us encourage, develop and fervently pursue a God love for each other that binds us together, like drops of water bound together in the flow of a river.
c. To be a refreshing fountain of living water in our community. To be the oasis that a dry and thirsty world can come and find Jesus and have their thirst quenched.
d. To join with other streams and flows of the Holy Ghost in this region. To flow together with the body of Christ universal. To build his Kingdom, not ours.
2) Christ the bridegroom, the church His bride – We are the beautiful, cherished, beloved Bride of Christ. We are His and He is coming for us. This places us in a wonderful and beautiful position. In a marriage, it is the bride who is the vessel in which the birthing process takes place. The main indicator of a healthy union between husband and wife is the presence of viable offspring, fruit produced as a result of their intimate union. The church is the birthplace of God vision and purpose here on earth. “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven”. The church is the birthplace of His Kingdom and His will being done on earth.
What does this mean?
a. That we, as the beloved of Christ stand in the unique and precious place of being His chosen bride. We are not just people, we are His people; we must dedicate ourselves to the full realization of this fact through teaching, preaching encouraging, prophecy etc.
b. We are the vessel by which God dreams and vision is birthed in our community and in our region. To fervently seek the direction and vision of God so that His will can be done in our corner of His earth as it is done in Heaven
c. We have a choice – to be intimate with Him or not. Like the apple tree that has no control over the apple once it begins to grow, our intimacy with Him will produce Holy Ghost fruit. Salvations, signs, wonders, miracles and gifting are all the byproducts of supernatural intimacy and union with our God.
Purpose (Why do we see what we see?)
1) Living Water
a. Scripture
i. John 7:37-39
:
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “if anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water”. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive…
ii. John 4:13
:
Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
iii. Isaiah 43:18,19
:
Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth: shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

a. Scripture
i. Ephesians 5:25-32
:
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
ii. 2 Corinthians 11:2

b. Prophetic Word
i. Ted Hanson – (January 4, 2009)
1. “It isn’t about casting out demons, it isn’t about healing the sick, it isn’t about doing the works of the Kingdom, it’s about having the relationship with God that produces the Kingdom”
2. “I have placed this valley on the map…a map that’s in relationship with me and because there are people who are crying out to be in relationship with me, I’m going to establish a place that’s founded upon that relationship with me”
